Queen’s Comedy Autumn 2014

Queen’s Comedy Club welcomes in another term of comedy with a line-up any festival would be proud of!

We kick off proceedings on Wednesday 24th of September with one of the stars of ‘Him & Her’ and ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’, Joe Wilkinson. Joe plays his only Irish date in 2014 with support from Irish standup Jarlath Regan.

On Wednesday the 1st of October, we’re joined by one of Ireland’s all time great comedians, Kevin McAleer. Kevin is truly one of the comedic masters and has influenced a whole new generation of comedians in Ireland and the UK. On the night support comes from the ‘mad magician with amazing skills, dodgy jokes, an infectious smile’, George Firehorse.

Wednesday 8th of October, sees ‘Ireland’s seventh biggest hip-hop crew’, Abandoman perform. Fresh from supporting multi-platinum artist Ed Sheeran on his sell-out UK tour, come witness Abandoman lift the roof of the Mandela hall with their ingenious comedy rap stylings. Support comes from the 2014 Galway Tedfest Toilet Duck award winner, Donal Vaughan.

Our final show of the term is Wednesday 15th of October and sees the comedy genius of Howard Read. Perhaps best known as the other half of the animated six-year-old virtual stand-up comic, Little Howard, Howard has appeared with him on some of the biggest TV shows in the world (even This Morning with Phil and Holly!). Multi-award winning Australian stand-up, Felicity Ward is support on the night.

Compere for all our shows is Colin Murphy, best known for RTE’s The Panel and his BBC shows The Blame Game and Great Unanswered Questions.
